At Sea Change CoLab (Sea Change), our work helps people and organizations build more inclusive, equitable systems through learning, facilitation, and community engagement. Over time, one thing has become very clear. 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs across Atlantic Canada are asking for space, connection, and support that truly reflects their lived realities. The Queer Atlantic Business Hub is one response to that call, and we are excited to share that it is officially launching.
The Queer Atlantic Business Hub is a new Atlantic-wide initiative designed to support 2SLGBTQIA+ people who want to start, grow, or sustain a business. The Hub is launching its new bilingual website, welcoming a newly formed board, and opening membership to the public. While Sea Change is helping to bring this work to life, the Hub is a collaborative project shaped by community voices and delivered in partnership with others across the region.
This project is funded by the Canadian Queer Chamber of Commerce, whose investment has made it possible to build a strong foundation for queer economic inclusion in Atlantic Canada. With that support, and in collaboration with regional partners, we are creating something that is rooted locally while connected nationally.
The new Queer Atlantic Business Hub website serves as a central gathering place. It introduces the vision, values, and people behind the work, and makes it easier for individuals and organizations to understand how to get involved. The site was built with accessibility and clarity in mind, reflecting Sea Change’s commitment to inclusive design and plain language across all of our work.
We are also proud to introduce the Hub’s inaugural board. The board includes people from across Atlantic Canada with lived experience in entrepreneurship, community leadership, and systems change. Their role is to guide the Hub with care, accountability, and a strong focus on long-term sustainability.
Membership is another key part of this launch. The Hub offers three membership levels: Founding Member, Individual Member, and Community Supporter. Each level is designed to meet people where they are, whether they are queer entrepreneurs, professionals, allies, or organizations that want to support this work. Membership helps sustain the Hub and ensures it remains responsive to the community it serves.
For Sea Change, this project aligns closely with our three core areas of work. Through learning, the Hub will support skill-building and shared knowledge. Through facilitation, it will help create meaningful connections and partnerships. Through community engagement, it will amplify voices and experiences that are often left out of traditional business spaces.
As the Hub grows, we are also actively seeking sponsors and partners who share a commitment to equity, inclusion, and queer economic resilience. Sponsorship is an opportunity to support tangible community impact while standing alongside a values-driven initiative.
We invite the Sea Change community to explore the new Queer Atlantic Business Hub website, share it within your networks, and consider how you or your organization might engage as a member, supporter, or sponsor. This is the beginning of something collective, and we are excited to see where it leads.
