Our Mission

Vision

A community where all people realize their full potential and belong in, and contribute to, a prosperous, equitable, and inclusive society.

Mission

Sea Change CoLab supports leaders and teams across private, public, and impact-driven sectors to learn in ways that really last and spark meaningful change. We cultivate a movement of accessible and equitable employers, leaders, and champions to disrupt ableism and inequities in workplaces across Nova Scotia and beyond. We do this by enhancing the capacity of employers, leaders, and champions through:

  • Customized learning options
  • Transformational facilitation
  • Human-centered change management

Our Values

Collaboration:

We work cohesively and collaboratively towards a larger vision of equity and accessibility for all. We value partnership and collaboration to (1) bring together different skills and perspectives, and (2) increase innovation, learning & development, and social impact.

Intersectionality and Centering Lived Experience and Story:

Key to our collaborative work is the principle “nothing about us without us,” which means that we center the lived experiences of people facing inequities in the design, development, and delivery of our products and services.

Creativity:

We find new ways of thinking, learning, and doing. We encourage calculated risk-taking and celebrate experimentation, understanding that even failures can offer valuable lessons.

Compassion:

We actively understand and empathize with the experiences and challenges of others, without judgment or assumptions. We cultivate a supportive environment, which means practicing active listening, offering support when needed, and celebrating successes together.

Kindness:

We foster psychological safety and build connections in our work through cultivating a culture of kindness, empathy, support, and recognition.

Imagination:

We push past the status quo with bold and progressive ideas to imagine alternative futures. We are curious and challenge deeply ingrained assumptions and traditional methods.
